Our founders' story
Johanne Gnagne, Founder of Klaman & Co, is an award-winning cultural ambassador and international advocate for cross-continental collaboration. Born in Montreal and raised in Côte d’Ivoire, she bridges two worlds with precision and passion—bringing together diverse communities through culture, dialogue, and shared experience.
Her journey revealed a clear gap: while African culture is rich and influential, it is often underrepresented or misunderstood in global spaces. At the same time, many in the diaspora seek deeper, more authentic connections to their heritage.
Klaman & Co was created to change that.
Beyond her work with Klaman & Co, Johanne serves as a cultural diplomat appointed to San Diego’s International Affairs Board and has been recognized by the Cities of San Marcos and Lemon Grove for her leadership and commitment to inclusion.
Through strategic, creative, and community-driven initiatives, she has built a platform that transforms African cultural heritage into a catalyst for social and economic impact across the U.S., Africa, and beyond.
Today, that vision continues to guide Klaman & Co—creating access, elevating voices, and building meaningful bridges across cultures.
